Exhaust gas return valves

The emission of contaminants of commercial vehicles has been tangibly reduced by optimized engines, improved fuels and state-of-the-art EGR systems in the last few years. With the current Euro-IV norm a reduction of contaminants of approximately 70 to 90% could be achieved in the different vehicles classes in comparison to the Euro-I norm.
When equipped with the EGR valves for installation in the hot gas side developed by Klubert + Schmidt in 1996 commercial vehicles can return a part of the exhaust gases for re-combustion. Thus, the combustion temperature decreases and the formation of nitrogen oxide during combustion is reduced. Installation in the hot gas side means that exhaust gases with a temperature of up to 750 degrees centigrade flow through the valve before entering the EGR cooler.
The valves are controlled by pneumatic, hydraulic or electric actuators and supplied as single- or double-flow versions.
By applying state-of-the-art pressure cylinders, partly equipped with path measuring systems or electric actuators, today's EGR valves can be completely integrated into engine management systems and optimize the environmental effects through continuous control.
Klubert + Schmidt GmbH is doing its part to create a cleaner
environment in this area as well.
